Overview
What is Linx?
Linx is a user-friendly systems integration and process automation application.
Business need
Business operations have multiple electronic systems, manual processes and communication channels with business partners and clients.
For maximum efficiency communication between systems and business entities must
be automatic with little or no manual operations. New systems
or processes must be integrated with the existing infrastructure. All of this must
happen while still providing the flexibility for change in a fast moving and competitive
environment.
How we solve it
Linx provides an easy
and efficient way to automate business processes, integrate diverse systems and
communicate with business partners and clients. It consists of the Linx Designer
that a technically proficient business person will be able to use to design, build
and test integration solutions, the Linx Server that runs the solutions and a Linx
Client that can communicate with the Linx Server to start, stop and view running
processes. The user selects components from a large, extensible library of components,
drags and drops them on the process section of the solution and fills in some properties.
The process can be debugged on the spot and can be uploaded to a running Linx Server
in seconds. No scripting or deep technical knowledge is required except where mandated
by the complexity of the systems that are being integrated.
Business benefit
Implementing Linx will save time and money and improve customer and business partner
relationships through faster processing of transactions and queries. It will enable
the business to change processes or integrate new systems quickly and efficiently
without spending time on expensive development of custom integration software.
Technical overview
Linx consists of 3 applications: Linx Designer, Linx Server and Linx Client. Linx
Designer provides a graphical interface to design and test integration processes
and solutions. These solutions are loaded into Linx Server, a windows service application
that provides the runtime environment. Linx Client communicates remotely with Linx
Server to load or unload solutions, start and stop processes and generally provides
an administrative interface.
