Overview
What is Greenpoint?
Greenpoint combines a user-friendly web front-end, asynchronous processing and a familiar template editor (Microsoft Word), to form a robust reporting solution equally suited to ad-hoc and high volume batched report and notification generation environments. Greenpoint includes data management functionality, email delivery, graphing, batching functionality as well as various integration-and plug-in options for a tailor-made solution.
Business need
Businesses need to send documentation to their clients in a timely fashion. The documentation usually includes information that needs to be extracted from a line of business systems. Managing the validity of the data extracted is crucial to avoid expensive manual checks or embarrassing mistakes in documentation produced.
The templates for the documents change over time and might even change frequently to cater for marketing and other corporate activity.Changing these templates should be fast and painless.
How we solve it
Greenpoint provides an easy to use system to automate the generation of documents. Documents are produced based on templates designed in Microsoft Word. Greenpoint joins the templates with data extracted from other systems to produce the final documents. These documents can go through authorization steps before being delivered to their final destination via email. Every step is optional and can be configured according to the business requirements. Greenpoint is capable of delivering reports via email, with options to specify a report as the email body and/or an attachment(s), along with additional attachments such as marketing material or promotions.
Since Microsoft Word is the template editor, changing templates is extremely easy. The Add-In allows various functions such as generating a test report and uploading the changed template back into the system without having to open the web application. In addition to this, new versions of signatures or images used in the report can be uploaded via the web front-end, thus changing the resulting report without editing the template.
Data management functionality is included as part of Greenpoint. This allows users to configure imports, preview information, and track missing and incorrect data before generating reports. This prevents having to regenerate reports, thus saving both time and money. Validations can be configured to assist in identifying missing or incorrect data.
Greenpoint exposes most of its core functionality to external systems via Web Services, and has been successfully integrated in the past as a correspondence engine for Fairway - a Business Process Management System. In addition to this Greenpoint can also be used in conjunction with ImageStore, which is an extremely robust document repository solution, and Formz, which is a template editor offering bar-coding and distribution functionality.
Business benefit
Reports and notifications are processed faster, and can be emailed directly to the relevant recipients. Notifications can be extended to include marketing material such as promotions, extending the business’s marketing effort and exposure. Template maintenance, including the inclusion/replacement of images, etc. is fast and easy.
High Volume report generation does not affect the performance of the website, since the reports are generated asynchronously by a separate service.
Data Management and validations rules can be configured to confirm the presence and correctness of data. Greenpoint offers various integration points and can be implemented as a centralised correspondence solution.
